Scheduled water service interruption – West Quad Buildings, Aug. 6
by Green & Gold News |
On Wednesday, Aug. 6, water service to the West Quad will be temporarily shut off for approximately four hours, beginning at 9 a.m. and concluding around 1 p.m.
This shutdown is necessary to complete code-required repairs that will return a currently out-of-service fire hydrant to full operational status. These repairs are essential to ensure compliance with fire safety regulations and to maintain the integrity of our campus infrastructure.
During this time, all buildings in the West Quad—except Rasmuson Hall—will be without water service. As a result, restroom facilities in the affected buildings will be unavailable. We recommend that individuals use the facilities in Rasmuson Hall during this period.
There is no requirement to vacate the buildings or implement a live fire watch during the shutdown. However, Facilities and Campus Services asks that all occupants remain especially vigilant and immediately contact 911 in the event of a suspected fire or other emergency.
Restrooms in the affected buildings will be clearly marked as closed, and caution tape will be placed across the doors. Signage will also be posted at all building entrances to communicate the closure, its purpose, and expected duration.
Should there be any changes to this schedule, Facilities and Campus Services will promptly update this notice and the posted signage.
Buildings affected include:
- SMH
- BMH
- ADT
- GHH
- PSB
- Wendy Williamson Auditorium
- Cuddy Hall
